The Alumni Association of College of Engineering, Kallooppara (AACEK) had its first official meeting held on 21st August,2010 at the college Campus.

Fortunately or unfortunately only a few turned up.Fortunately coz the college authorities and the student volunteers could interact well with each and every alumnus who came. And unfortunately coz the first meeting wasn’t a total success afteral. But we are hoping “all is well that ends well“. Its just the beginning, who knows after few years the whole CEK community will be proud of this little start we had.

We felt a mixture of emotions when we found out that even students from the ’99 batch came over to refresh their memories and uplift the Alumni. We were eagerly watching their enthusiasm to discover every nook and corner of their old college. Its true that when they were doing their degree the college was scattered here and there, the mechanical lab was down the lane, the electrical lab was at the second floor of some building and all.We could totally understand their happiness to find the college back in ‘one piece’ :-) .They were even amazed to see our college bus, that they couldn’t resist their urge to take a few snaps of it. Most of them came as a group, either with their friends or with family. We were surprised when a guy popped in with his wife and a new born baby :-) .Most of them are well settled and working in big MNCs which brought a great deal of hope in us.Actually, about 30 of them registered but many couldn’t make it due to the unexpected block and traffic jam on the way.

The programme started with a silent prayer, then each of the Alumnus gave their intro, shared their experience as well established employees in various companies and also a little family stuff. Then went on to tea, felicitation by the Principal, and a speech by Rajkumar Sir along with announcing the official opening of AACEK .Rajkumar Sir said that he expected a few more people, but was happy that the ones who came were all the “pulis” of their time :-D .Thus we concluded with an Onam Sadhya to match up with the occasion and wounded up with a photo session.
We are extremely thankful to our Rajkumar Sir for organizing this event, the Principal for his full support, and also the senate members, the placement coordinators and all the volunteers.Last but not the least all the Alumni members for taking time off their busy life and filling the atmosphere of the day with feelings of nostalgia, happiness, and yearning for long lost memories. They gave us encouragement and inspiration along with a message which they unknowingly implied by just dropping by,that is “Never to forget your roots…where ever you are, what ever you are”.

Added are some snaps from the event.check it out….
